Sawley Marina Market

25th April 2017

Dave Phillips, Customer Service Assistant at BWML Midland Marinas said:

“Twice a year we lay on a market, mainly as way of collecting funds for our nominated charity, Linjoy Burton Wildlife Sanctuary, but also to promote our site. We are working closely with the local Police and Fire Service, who will be on site supporting this event.”

Andrew Bridgen MP said:

“I was delighted to be invited to open the market and help in raising funds for the nominated charity, Burton Wildlife Rescue and Linjoy Animal Sanctuary, who have rescued wildlife from the marina in the past. It was a pleasure meeting those from the 30 stalls which took part which are small local business’s from the area.”

Events such as this Market highlights the Marina and puts it squarely on the map.

This is Sawley Marinas fourth market which have the specific purpose of fundraising for their nominated charity which this year is:

Burton Wildlife Rescue and Linjoy Sanctuary.

Burton Wildlife Rescue was founded in 2008 and provides 24-hour emergency rescue for British wildlife and unwanted, injured or abandoned poultry and small domestic animals.

In 2011, the Linjoy Sanctuary was opened in Etwall and is home to over 300 animals that have been rescued. For those animals that cannot be returned to the wild, it provides them with a safe haven to live in.

They were onsite on the day with a small selection of rescued animals.

All thestall holders are small business’s and work from home enterprises. There were many exciting live events planned for the two days from live music through to water safety demonstrations and Medieval Combat.

The staff at the Marina welcomed all visitors and hoped attendees had a fabulous time.
