Lottery Funding

5th December 2017

Andrew Bridgen MP for North West Leicestershire is encouraging more local community groups to apply for Lottery funding, following the news that the Big Lottery Fund has provided £39,935 of funding to 4 projects in North West Leicestershire in the past 3 months.

The Big Lottery Fund uses money raised by National Lottery players to support communities to achieve their ambitions. Players have generated over £37 billion for good causes since 2004.

For groups looking for funding for community projects, they consider applying for the following grant programmes:

National Lottery Awards for All offers funding of up to £10,000 to support what matters to people and communities. If you are a voluntary or community organisation, a school or a statutory body – you can apply for funding so you can make something amazing happen.

Reaching Communities provides funding between £10,000 and £500,000 for voluntary or community groups. The most important thing when applying for funding is telling us about your ideas to make positive changes in your community.

Andrew said ‘We have some fantastic community groups in North West Leicestershire and it’s great that local groups such as The Education Hub, Canine Partners for Independence, Oakthorpe Primary School and Desford Brass Band Club have won funding for their projects. I would encourage groups in the District to contact the fund and make a bid for funding.’

Anyone thinking of applying for funding should contact the Big Advice Line to discuss your project idea on 0345 4 10 20 30.
