Farming

12th September 2017

Andrew Bridgen MP recently visited Spring Barrow Lodge Farm in Whitwick to learn of the concerns held by the farming industry since the Brexit vote.

Andrew discussed these issues with local farmer Joe Stanley who also writes a column for Farmers Weekly. The topics covered included, food security, Replacement of EU CAP Rural Development Funds, Neonicotinoids, Glyphosate & TB.

Andrew said afterwards ‘I was delighted to meet with Joe and discuss the issues facing the Farming industry post Brexit. I believe that our departure from the EU will open up new opportunities for British farmers as we are able to dictate our own Agricultural policy free from the shackles of the EU bureaucracy.’

Andrew continued ‘We have a significant agricultural industry in North West Leicestershire and I want to see that prosper. I will be taking Joe’s concerns to the Minister and will continue to meet with the Farming and agricultural community.’
