Amazon Coalville

28th April 2017

Andrew Bridgen officially opened Amazon’s Fulfilment Centre in Coalville on Friday 28 April. The fulfilment centre opened last autumn and now employs more than 600 people in full time permanent roles.

Andrew was joined at the official opening by Lord Lieutenant Lady Gretton, Leader of Leicestershire County Council, Councillor Nick Rushton, and Chairman of North West Leicestershire District Council and Coalville East Ward Councillor John Cotterill.

Nathan Fetherston, General Manager of the Amazon fulfilment centre, said:

“Amazon was delighted to welcome Andrew Bridgen to officially open our Coalville Fulfilment Centre. We opened the site last autumn, shipping our first order in October 2016. Amazon has created hundreds of new jobs in Leicestershire and now employs more than 600 people in permanent positions at the site, from operations managers to engineers, HR and IT roles to people who will handle customer orders.”

Andrew Bridgen said:

“I am very impressed with the site and that the huge investment by Amazon in Coalville and North West Leicestershire will be an asset for the local community for decades to come, with huge employment opportunities.”
